The ULTIMATE THRILLER: "THE" Michael Jackson Tribute To play The Stanley 7pm Sunday June 27

Date Posted: June 21st, 2010

UTICA - Michael Jackson's signature moves are being revived in The Ultimate Thriller's world tour choreographed by one of Jackson's principle dancers, Mic Thompson. The tour is currently booked in 50+ European venues from December 2009 through March 2010, complete with an uncanny Jackson look-alike. This tribute to the musical phenom has what it takes to be an ultimate thrill for fans.

The Ultimate Thriller's show is based on Michael Jackson's "Dangerous" and "Bad" concert tours and will perform iconic songs like "Black or White," "Beat It," and "Billie Jean."

The show is live and electrifying thanks to a world-class group of musicians, dancers and singers. Vocalist and Jackson double Tej'ai Sullivan has been mastering Jackson's vocals and dancing for 20 years and was the unquestionable winner of the 2007 Michael Jackson United Nation International Fan Club MJ Pop Idol Contest. No lip-syncher, Sullivan's performances are 100% live. Choreographer Mic Thompson spent 9 years on stage with Jackson and that intimate relationship shows from Tej'ai's first pop and lock. This cast truly has the talent to capture the memory of the "King of Pop."

The onstage lineup for The Ultimate Thriller includes "Michael," four musicians, two background singers and four dancers. Add in state-of-the-art sound and video, an incredible light show, authentic costumes, and stirring choreography (including the legendary moonwalk), not to mention Michael Jackson's greatest hits, and you have a guaranteed formula for an extraordinary, multimedia-based tribute super-show!

Show producer Robert Hyman was working on bringing tribute bands to the forefront in Florida when Michael Jackson died. It was at that moment when he realized they needed to pursue a fitting tribute to pay respect to the artist genius.

"There is a great demand for tribute shows," says Hyman, The Ultimate Thriller show producer. "Once we received the news of Michael Jackson's passing, we felt we should put this show to the forefront. Michael's music spans so many generations. His passion, spirit and love are something that we gravitate toward. I could think of nothing better than to pay respect by playing his music to the world so we can keep his spirit alive."

For all the artists involved, this tour is about more than nostalgia. It is about carrying on the magic, music and energy Jackson brought to the world.

Tickets are now on sale at the Stanley, 724 - 4000, www.StanleyTIX.com, and ticketmaster. Ticket prices range for $22 to $41.

CATS: AMERICA'S FAVORITE FAMILY MUSICAL At The Stanley for ONE performance: 7:30pm Wednesday July 14, 2010

Date Posted: June 14th, 2010

UTICA, NY - The show that revolutionized musical theatre is coming to The Stanley in Utica, New York for one special performance 7:30pm Wednesday July 14, 2010. Tickets go on sale at 10am Friday June 18 at The Stanley, 724 - 4000 online www.StanleyTIX.com, and through ticketmaster.

Produced by CATS-Eye, LLC, the national tour of CATS is the only production in North America sanctioned by Andrew Lloyd Webber. With original direction by Trevor Nunn and choreography by Gillian Lynne this is the CATS credited with the British invasion of Broadway. The national tour of CATS recently celebrated its 27th anniversary season, holding its place as the longest continuously touring Broadway musical in history.

On May 11, 1981, CATS opened at the New London Theatre in the West End. Eight years later, it celebrated its first important milestone: after 3,358 performances CATS became the longest running musical in the history of British theatre. CATS played its final performance on its 21st birthday, May 11, 2002.

CATS opened on Broadway October 7, 1982 at the Winter Garden Theatre in New York City and continued to live up to its motto "Now and Forever." On June 19, 1997, CATS became the longest running musical on Broadway. It ended its 18-year run on September 10, 2000 with 7,485 performances. That record was broken by The Phantom of the Opera on January 9, 2006 when Phantom celebrated its 7,486th curtain.

Based on T.S. Eliot's Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats, and with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, CATS won seven 1983 Tony Awards including Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical, Best Lighting and Best Costumes.

In October of 1991, CATS became the longest continuously touring show in American theatre history. Five continents, 26 countries, over eight and a half million audience members and 27 years later, CATS is still America's most loved family musical. Celebrating not only 27 years but the birth of the musical spectacular, CATS is still revolutionary and awe inspiring.

Now that it has been seen by millions of audience members worldwide, it is time to celebrate with the whole family the magic, the mystery, the wonder of CATS.
