CREATIVE CONNECTIONS: Exploring the World of Flamenco
Date Posted: February 26th, 2009
UTICA, NY (February 26, 2009)-Can you separate the music from the dance in Flamenco? What are the songs about? What relationship does the dance have to the music? What came first; the music or the dance?
Join us for an informal, pre-concert experience as the Stanley Center for the Arts Arts in Education Institute (AEI) introduces us to the dance and music of Flamenco.
This event will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, February 27th, in List 106, down the hall from Wellin Hall, at Hamilton College.
Free and open to the public, this event will provide an insight into the evening's dance works performed by Flamenco Vivo at 7:30p.m. in the college's Wellin Hall. Tickets for the 7:30p.m. performance are available through the Hamilton College Box Office at 859-4331 or online at www.hamiltonpa.org.
Nancy Long, AEI dance teaching artist and Director of Dance at Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute will facilitate the pre-concert workshop.
