“It’s a Zoo!” Theater Competition

The “It’s a Zoo!” Theater Competition annually invites all elementary students from throughout Central New York to stage their own productions based on children’s literary classics which incorporate original or adapted works of literature with themes of nature, animals or ecology. Participating in this process allows teachers and students alike to use their talents and challenges them into integrating the performing arts into a hands on approach to reading and studying that stimulates imagination and motivation of a child. These live renditions of books on stage present plays that are as elaborate as any professional production and help turn students into a dynamic, engaged and motivated learners.

The 2010 application deadline is Saturday, January 30, 2010.
