THEATRE

Flying on the Wings of Imagination by Regi Carpenter

Regi was raised in the same small upstate New York town as her great-grandfather Samuel, her grandfather Benjamin, and her father Carl on the St. Lawrence River. She was raised on stories of a magnificent river and the people who settled at its shores. Life on the river was anything but ordinary. Underwater tea parties in the summer and strolls across the water's icy dress in the winter give a child a unique perspective on life.

Equally at home with world stories, folktales and myths Regi adds wit, humor and craft to a diverse repertoire that is reflected in her adult and children's programs. Swift and powerful or calm and gentle, Regi's storytelling is always a surprising adventure.

A New York State certified teacher with fourteen years of storytelling experience, Regi is a nationally acclaimed performer and educator who has received the Parents' Choice Gold Award, the Parent's Guide to Children's Media Award, and the Leonard Bernstein Fellowship for Artists in Education. She currently lives near Ithaca, New York.
